The Face of A Criminal

The other day Alex got my keys when I was on the phone. Trying not to cause a scene, I let him keep them (while I kept an eye on him). Well, we all make mistakes right?! I have a remote on my key chain to set off the house alarm in case of an emergency. You can guess what happened...he set it off! He immediately started wailing in fear and I had to get off the phone because I couldn't even hear anymore. I turned off the alarm and got back to the norm of things and tried to forget about the minor drama. Well, as I am talking to Travis on the phone a few minutes later, the doorbell rang. Oh my, its the police. Yep. I just forgot that they would be notified and my alarm company didnt call us to check (gonna have to look into that one later!). First off, I am terrified of police men. I dont know why, but I have always been afraid to talk to them. Maybe I think that they will always think I am guilty, when I am not (of course). Well, I throw the little guy under the bus and tell the officer that he did it- I swear sir, he pushed the button on my key chain. He looked slightly amused. Alex starts crying in fear of the man coming into our house- cant blame him. He asks for my drivers license and asks about my husbands name. Turns out he was double checking because the man that lived here before us (yes, like 3 years ago!) is "wanted" - dont worry, I didnt ask questions because I didnt want to look interested. But this is not the first time we have had to deal with this mans issues. I hate it because I have to say "I do not know that man." I am sure anyone would say that whether they know him or not, but I really dont know him! ugh.
The officer was nice and totally understood.

He had to ask before he left though...
"Did you really buy your son cymbals?!" I look down and Alex had been holding his cymbals the whole time. Haha...."no, they came from my mother-in-law, but he does love them!"
"Thats what I thought. No mother in her right mind would buy her child cymbals." (great.)

And then a few days later Alex got his first mail from the City of Round Rock Police. Just a warning this time! : )

Now, I ask you....is this the face of a criminal!?

This "coloring" lasted all of 10 seconds. I had to try!
And, I just had to show you what he looks like when he bangs his cymbals.

Should I worry?!

I think Alex may need to be eating more!? He is starting to look a little bone-y! (budum bum- tch!)

Evans' Three...YeeHaw!

Happy 3rd Birthday Evan!!

Evans birthday was at a small petting zoo this year and a western theme! It was so fun and so cute- as always! Evan was precious in his cowboy boots and sheriff t-shirt!
Alex was already a pro at the goats (since we went to the zoo the weekend before) so he wasn't as interested in them. Maybe he was scared and remembered the pain! :) But they had bunnies, chickens, a donkey, a horse, and a pony! This was Alex's first pony ride! He wasn't so sure at first, but with a little push he did great! and I think really liked it! :) Poor Evan was really scared to ride the horse, but got on to ride with cousin Sophie. Too cute!

Gibson, Evan, and Sophie: the three amigos (cousins!)

Can you see Alex's little head at the head of the table? I wanted him to be a part of the party table, but unfortunately he was so excited he didn't last long in his seat. I am sad I didn't get a picture of the birthday boy with Alex but this year was a little more hectic- Alex is into everything and doesnt stand still for a minute! It makes it hard to juggle food, drinks, camera, and all! Mom needs to get with it! :)

Dinner and Dancing

We got together with the Isaacsons for a fun dinner at Iron Cactus down at the new Galleria shops in Lakeway. Who knew that Honeybrowne was doing a free concert right outside that same night?! It was so fun! There were tons of families and kids running around. The weather was great! and Alex loved to dance! of course!! :) We are excited about more fun times like this when the grandparents move here for good!

Alex took a while to warm up to the live band and had to stay close to Honey
Dancing with Grandpa

Happy that Scott and Leah were in town from Dallas too!!

10 Year Reunion Weekend

Here is a small group at dinner...we all opted not to pay the big bucks to go to the real deal. It was fun to see a few old friends though. I was horrible about taking pics and this was it for the night. Oops. :)

The park on Sat. Afternoon...

Some of my girls with their kiddos... yes, mine has his finger up his nose. classic.

love this little 'un...Bekah is totally cool with sleeping like this!
Alex made a new friend with Christy's daughter, Kara. Maybe it is love and they can say they met at their mothers reunion!??
Izzie, Riley, Ben, Alex, Kara
On Sunday we went to visit the Reynolds' newest addition...Ray! He is just too precious for words and was a trooper dealing with Alex the Monster! ha!!

This was our goodbye trip to my parents house. I was very sad to leave and cried a few tears as we drove off and Travis said to say goodbye. I grew up in this house and it will forever hold precious memories for me. My parents are cheering here- Yea for Round Rock!

Its all happening at the zoo...

This weekend we went to the San Antonio Zoo. It was so much fun and Alex was very interested in the animals! Well, the ones that were big and moving. :)

First stop, the flamingos....wouldn't be right if I didn't say it...
"why do flamingos stand on one leg?...
cause if they picked up the other one, they'd fall down!" (hardy har har)~ joke made famous by Wes Skeeters

Alex really liked them. Wouldn't even turn for the picture!

Not quite sure of that big bear
woo hoo! ride em cowboy!
the one month old baby monkey! soo cute! hand in hand

if I just squeeze a little harder, I might get through

yes, I made it in a picture...but of course, Alex did not want to cooperate. no love for mama.
my new fave
come on mom, the heat is killing me
A Lion says "ROAR" (I swear he was doing it too!)

my little turtle

This was hysterical. We were quickly approaching our time limit when we came upon this sorry excuse for a play area...looked more like a dumping ground to me. It was soo hot by this point too. Alex could care less! He LOVED it!! and didn't want to leave ...

even started dancing!! totally unprompted, raw excitement, dancing!
I must close with the petting zoo (even though this isn't chronological)... no Alex the food is not for you!

Good job! Feeding the goat by himself!! I was shocked!
This one shows the black goat that was watching the whole thing and not happy about it at all! Then Alex decided to be a "tempter" and take the food and try to walk away. He learned...
the goat will bite your butt! I thought it was hysterical. Alex, not so much!

The rest of the weekend update to come! It was my 10 year high school reunion and the last time to visit Nani and Papa Wes's house! :(
