uncle papoo is 30!!

(This was a while back but I am trying to catch up and I hate to let it go)

We had a super fun time celebrating Uncle Matt (Mathew- said in a toddler way "Papoo") turning the big 3-0! Ruth and Steve rented a lake house for us to all get away for the weekend and just hang out together. The house was great but the main part was upstairs which made it hard for Alex to just go out and play. So thank goodness I had a balloon for him to kick and hit around the living room bc thats pretty much what he did all weekend! I knew I would need something bc he is used to kicking a ball at our house but I knew that the owners of the house probably did not intend for it to be used as a gymnasium (like my poor house is). Another funny tid-bit is that my lil family of 4 tried to sleep in the same room the first night. Not really ideal so I made the executive decision to sleep with Ellie downstairs in the game room the next night. It was perfect except that right as I was crawling into bed I heard water dripping. The pipes had leaked threw the ceiling! Thankfully, we just stopped using that toilet and all was fine...well, because we are lucky enough to not be the owners and we can just leave in the morning! :)
Ruth did this amazing train of Matt's birthday pictures from birth to now and I am so sad I didn't get a picture! But it was such a fun trip down memory lane and a great idea!

the gang coming back from their walk
a little football/soccer game with daddy
hanging with honey
the view from the balcony, playing some washers (which I must add, team travis and cassie came out on top, thank you)

The deer were incredible. There were tons and they would walk right up to eat out of your hand. It was really fun for Alex...

until one got too close for comfort, he turned and ran, and then did this like maybe it would just go away

brave again

a little last minute ping pong game

Alex loved it! wanted to play too!
We had to get him a "paddle" recently so he could play at home.
the whole gang in all our "no shower going home" glory, dont judge!
Matt is just the sweetest uncle, brother, son, guy! We all love him to pieces!!

I'm glad you guys had such a special weekend! You are so blessed to have such a wonderful extended family on Travis' side! : ) How cool that the deer ate from your hand too, Bekah would have gone bonkers, she is obsessed with deer right now!

What a fun trip!! I think Eliana favors Travis' side of the family. She looks like her uncle and grandpa.
